Carbon Fiber Tube Reinforced Sleeve 14-28mm | Aluminum Alloy | 2-Pack

Black aluminium sleeves that push into the end of a carbon fiber tube so the wall does not crush when you tighten a clamp around it.

Order by the tube's inner diameter. That is the opposite of how most of our fittings are sized, so it is worth saying twice: a D=14mm sleeve is for a tube with a 14mm bore, not a 14mm outside diameter. Push it in until it sits level with the end of the tube. No glue, no tools.

It is a plain aluminium cylinder, anodised matte black, with no flange and no holes through it. The black finish means it disappears inside the tube instead of showing as a bright ring at the joint. The point of it is to put a hard surface against the inside of the tube wall. Carbon tube is stiff along its length, but the wall is thin, and a clamp or a bolt closing on the end will crush it. The aluminium insert takes that load instead, so you can tighten the joint down properly instead of stopping early because the tube is starting to give.

Sizes

The wider sleeves come in the longer lengths because a bigger tube carries more load at the joint, so the insert needs to spread that over more of the wall.

Tube ends that go into a clamp, tube ends that take a bolt straight through, and joints between two tubes on drone frames, RC models and light robot structures. Anywhere the tube wall would otherwise be the part being squeezed.

• Measure the bore, not the outside. These are sized on inner diameter.
• Sold in packs of 2 — one set is two sleeves.
• Tubes are not included. This listing is sleeves only.
• If your tube bore is not quite the nominal figure, send us the number you measured. Carbon tube bores drift a little, and a sleeve that is a fraction tight will not start.
