Carbon Fiber Tube Connector 10-25mm | Male + Female Threaded Splice Set

Aluminium splices for joining two carbon fiber tube ends. One set is one male and one female piece: each half slides over a tube end and is glued there, then the two halves thread together by hand. No tools needed.

Pick the size that matches your tube's outside diameter: 10, 12, 16, 18, 20 or 25mm. A 16mm splice is for a 16mm tube. Wall thickness, weave and inner diameter do not come into it. If you are measuring a tube you already have, measure across the outside, not the bore.

One set makes one joint: a half slips over each of the two tube ends, then the male half screws into the female half. Order two sets if you are joining more than two tubes, or if you want a spare half in the tool box.

Fitting them is a gluing job, and it is yours to do. Each half slides over the outside of a tube end, and that is where the glue goes: two-part epoxy — AB glue — spread as a thin film around the outside of the tube, then push the splice on and turn it a little so the glue moves. Wipe off what squeezes out before it sets. The thread and the knurl are there to close the joint, not to hold the splice onto the tube, so do not skip the glue. We do not supply the adhesive — buy your epoxy separately.

The knurl is not decoration. It is what lets you get the joint tight with your fingers, which matters when the tube is smooth and there is not a single wrench flat anywhere on the part.

What it will not do: it will not make the joint stiffer than the tube. A splice is a joint, and a bending load will still find the wall on either side of it. If that is the problem you are solving, a thicker-walled tube does more than any fitting we sell.

The bond is only as good as the prep. A dusty, greasy or glossy tube end will let go long before the aluminium does, so clean it and scuff it before you glue.
