Solid rod is pultruded and smooth, with no woven surface, and it uses a lower-cost fibre than our 3K roll wrapped tube. That makes it a budget part: good for pushrods, kite spars and light linkages, where it needs to be straight and stay that way. It is not the high-strength option. Across the section it is considerably weaker than a roll wrapped tube, and it will split rather than bend if overloaded. If the part takes real load, or has to resist crushing and twisting, order from the 3K roll wrapped tube range instead. Sizing either one is covered in the carbon fiber tube sizing guide.
